Addressable Fire Alarm Systems are generally installed on larger premises such as Schools, Factories, Hospitals and Large Office Blocks etc. The Addressable Fire Alarm System is a more advanced system in terms of both the detection devices and the main control panel itself.
Each device on the system is given an address and the control panel is told where that address is. In the event of a fire the control panel not only displays the fire zone but also the general area where the fire originated.
Detection devices such as smoke and heat detectors are also more advanced than their conventional counterpart, as they do not activate as soon as smoke passes through them but activate on a more sliding scale and need more smoke to set them off. This gives a greater advantage in reducing false alarms.
